Similarities: The genetic material in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes  contains coding as well as non-coding sequences.

Difference:

Prokaryotes           Eukaryotes 

No nucleus           Have nucleus.  

Genome                Genome present in               present inside the region of           nucleus.           cytoplasm                                       called nucleoid.
