Translation in Eukaryotes and Prokaryotes

In Prokaryotes, mRNA is translated into protein as soon as it is transcribed. Unlike eukaryotic cells, bacteria do not have a distinct nucleus that separates DNA from ribosomes, so there is no barrier to immediate translation.

Both processes use an mRNA template. tRNA brings up the correct amino acid in both processes. Both ribosomal subunits take part in translation initiation.
