Comparision :

  •  Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic translations are involved in protein synthesis.
  • The key difference between eukaryotic and prokaryotic translation is that eukaryotic translation is an asynchronous process,
  • whereas prokaryotic translation is a synchronous process.
Similarities:

  • Both group uses same mRNA template
  • Ribosome is the protein synthesis factory in Prokaryotes & Eukaryotes
  • The 61 codons are similar in both
Difference :

  • For prokaryotes translation happens in cytoplasm whereas for eukaryotes translation happens in nucleus
  • 70s Ribosomes are used for the prokaryotic translation and eukaryotic translation uses 80s Ribosomes
  • The prokaryotes has release factor such as RF1,RF2 but Eukaryotes has only one release factor that is eRF
